Student Union of Chambers of Commerce, on Tuesday, the new government of the need to seek to activate the project Iraq's accession to the World Trade Organization.
The head of the Union Jaafar al-Hamdani told the "Ply News," said Iraq's accession to the WTO will bring multiple benefits, including the expansion of the areas of check-in to get the good commodity at a reasonable price, as well as it aims to protect consumers from shoddy products and shoddy or harmful health, also aims to increase employment opportunities after increasing exports and expanding investments.
He said al-Hamdani said that "Iraq and seven years ago, is working to join the World Trade Organization (wto), because they pose the importance of attracting foreign investment and the possibility of integration with the global economy and with the global financial markets, but these attempts were not the level of ambition because it was limited to certain figures without the involvement of experienced and competent. "
He called al-Hamdani said, "be the new government's real and distinct role in activating the project to join the organization provided that the private sector and experienced place when negotiations with the organization."
Despite the wide openness to the world, in Iraq since the change in 2003 after decades of isolation, but its external economic relations are still experiencing troubled clear for several reasons in the forefront of the economic recession.
Observers point out that the accession to the World Trade Organization represents a prime target for many local economies because of the advantages achieved by this joining of integration into the global economy, providing great opportunities for investment, as well as finding markets for their products, but that this process is linked to the size and nature of the weapons competitiveness owned by the national economy, to enter the global market partner and a competitor, which is not available for the Iraqi economy in the current circumstances.
