Zebari: alliance between government and Sunni tribes is major priority

Finance Minister, Hoshyar Zebari said that “the efforts of preservation Iraq undermined the wasteful spending by the government on the war against (IS)” accusing “current and former senior officials in mismanagement and poor planning and failure to communicate with people who can defeat (IS), Sunni tribes.
He said in a press statement that “the formation of an alliance between the government and the Sunni tribes is a major priority in the fight against (IS) and we must find a way for forming this alliance.” Stressing that “what happened recently to Albu Nimer clan requires faster move in this matter because the government cannot reach them or send supplies in an appropriate manner because it faces enormous difficulties. ”
Zebari said that “part of the economic and financial problem we face is that spending on contracts and on the army and the militias and the popular committees and volunteers without proper planning.” / End
