Baghdad (NINA) – In recent days, representatives of political blocs held series of meetings to discuss means of implementing the Erbil Agreement.
A statement issued on Monday evening, May 30, by the office of Deputy Prime Minister, Nuri Shaways, said that the meetings in which representatives of a number political blocs were positive and shown high level of responsibility. In their last meeting they agreed on forming a permanent committee charged with following up means of implementing the Agreement's clauses.
It pointed out that the National Alliance could not hold its own meeting to prepare a response on the mechanism of choosing the Supreme Council of Strategic Policies; therefore Iraqiya bloc decided to suspend it attendance to the meeting until a response received.
The statement said that the National Alliance promised to turn in its response soon, and it will be positive.
Political blocs' representatives decided to recommend speeding up solving the issue of security ministries or naming representatives authorized to solve the issue as well as other outstanding issues.
