Iraq's IHEC: We are technically ready for a referendum of Basra region

BASRA, southern Iraq,— The Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) announced its readiness from technical and logistical terms to hold a referendum on the formation of Basra region, while indicated that it is not informed on details of the forms that are being distributed in the province. The deputy chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Katee al-Zobaie told the media that "IHEC is ready from technical and logistical terms to hold the referendum on Basra region after the arrival of the demand forms from the province ", adding that "financial budget of the referendum or any electoral process must be sent from the IHEC to the Council of Ministers." Al-Zobaie added that "administrative requirements on the allocation of money is the validity of the Council of Ministers.
