Iraqi-Turkish relations have entered a new phase, says Turkish PM

On Thursday, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stated that the Turkish-Iraqi relations have entered a new phase in terms of strategic cooperation to confront terrorism.
Davutoglu said, at a press conference with his Iraqi counterpart Haider al-Abadi that was held in Ankara and followed by IraqiNews.com, that, “There are effective mechanisms between the two countries for the development of relations in the framework of military and security cooperation,” noting that, “Iraqi-Turkish relations have entered a new phase in strategic cooperation to confront terrorism.”
He added,”Turkey is always ready to support Iraq,” stressing that, “There should not be any foreign fighters crossing into Iraq or Syria and we will now allow for the existence of ISIS as a terrorist organization in the region.”
