Arbil, Sept. 12 (Petra)--Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit held a meeting with Prime Minister of Iraq's Kurdistan Barham Saleh that was attended by a number of ministers and officials from both sides.
The two sides continued talks on topics that were discussed yesterday on the sidelines of the opening of the Joint Economic Forum between Jordan and Iraq's Kurdistan.
The two prime ministers stressed their keenness to institutionalize cooperation and further boost it in the economic, trade and investment fields.
Bakhit stressed Jordan's keenness to develop relations with Iraq's Kurdistan region in various field for the interest of both sides, noting that prospects for cooperation necessitate facilitating measures and removing obstacles hindering bilateral cooperation.
The prime minister stressed Jordan's keenness to provide Kurdistan's government with Jordanian expertise in the construction field and invest in the real estate and agricultural sectors.
Talks during the meeting also covered means of boosting cooperation and the exchange of expertise in the water, energy, labour, training, higher education, medical, pharmaceuticals, e-government and media fields.
The prime minister of Kurdistan region voiced willingness to benefit from Jordan's expertise in the financial, banking, tourism, QIZ and health domains.
In a press statement following the meeting, Bakhit highlighted prospects for cooperation between the two sides in various fields, adding that both sides agreed to remove obstacles facing bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
The prime minister of Kurdistan said the two sides discussed ways of enhancing cooperation in various domains.
Bakhit also inaugurated in the presence of his Kurdish counterpart Jordan's Consulate in Arbil.
He said the opening of the consulate will contribute to promoting contacts with officials and businessmen from the Kurdistan region and increase prospects of economic and trade cooperation.
