Mr. Ammar al-Hakim called on Parliament to speed up the financial approval of the budget, without prejudice to the salaries of staff members and retirees

The President of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Ammar al-Hakim on Monday, to expedite the adoption of the budget concerns the interests of citizens.
The library said in a statement that "Mr. Hakim was greeted in Baghdad the parliamentary Financial Committee Chairman Ahmed Chalabi, accompanied by several members of the Committee during the meeting stressed the need for rationalization of budget sections, reaffirmed the inviolability of salaries of low-income segments of the staff, retirees and social protection network".
Also called politicians and decision-makers to shoulder national responsibilities as commensurate with the scale of the crisis in the country, stressing the need to develop treatments for economic and financial realities in the country after global oil prices.
