Transportation recognizes its inability to implement the port of FAO is studying transmission investment

Transport Minister Baqir Jabr Al-Zubeidi, on Monday, the Ministry's inability to Faw port due to low budget, and noted that a "reluctance" in the implementation of the project, said that the Ministry is studying transmission investment.
Transport Minister Baqir Jabr Al-Zubeidi told a press conference in Baghdad attended by (long press), "the Ministry does not have the ability to project the great Faw port", stating that "the total cost of project is around six billion dollars and balance the Cabinet unable to meet it."
Zubeidi said the Ministry is now studying transfer of investment for its implementation, "Noting that" there are foreign companies wanted to invest in the world. "
Zubeidi said that "there is a great reluctance in the implementation of the project and only part of the breakwater".
The great Faw port is located on the coast of the Arabian Gulf in the extreme south of Iraq, and planned to combine 100 Dock docking of ships and receive various commercial cargo and activating the role of the shipping industry by virtue of its geographical position, as a universal port for connecting the Asian and European continent by Iraq through Turkey.
The Transport Ministry put on (April 2011), the foundation stone of the great Faw port project recalls his designs to fit the container length Jetty 39 thousand square meters and another length Jetty 2000 metres, as well as a container yard with an area of more than 1 million m 2, and other multi-purpose arena area of 600,000 m2, with capacity of 99 million tonnes a year, with the total cost of its four billion and 400 million euros, it is hoped that the port railway line connecting the Gulf Iraqi ports Northern Europe through Turkey.
