New Saudi king gives his first statement on Iraq
The Saudi Arabia's King , Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud confirmed his country's determination to strengthen its relations with Iraq.
The Iraqi president Fuad Masum, his deputy, Osama al- Nujaifi in addition to the Speaker of parliament , Salim al-Jubouri and his Kurdish deputy, Aram Sheikh Mohammed, Minister of Interior , Mohammed al- Ghaban and a number of MPs at the funeral of King Abdullah.
The Iraqi President , Fuad Masum, and his accompanying delegation at the presidential palace in Riyadh offered condolences on the death of King Abdullah to King Salman bin Abdul Aziz who expressed his thanks and appreciation to these feelings and for the attendance of Masum and the great delegation accompanying him to Saudi Arabia to offer condolences, "stressing the Kingdom's keenness to work for the promotion and strengthening of relations between the two countries, "as quoted by Iraqi presidential statement.
Condolences have been provided by the Iraqi President Masum and the delegation accompanying him in the presence of Crown Prince , Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, a number of princes and officials.
For his part, the President of Kurdistan Region, Massoud Barzani said that "the late, great King Abdullah led the Kingdom in difficult circumstances and gave it great progress."
Barzani said in a message of condolence to King ,Salman Bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, "We have received with great sadness the news of the death of the King of Saudi Arabia, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, who led the Kingdom in a very important international and working conditions to make progress and the reconstruction which qualified it to be in the forefront of countries."
