Oil Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, Friday, Iraq 's keenness to strengthen economic relations with the countries of the European Union , particularly in the oil and gas sectors, during the meeting with ambassadors in Baghdad.

The statement quoted Abdul-Mahdi as saying that "Iraq is keen to strengthen economic ties with European Union countries, notably in the oil and gas sectors for its wealth and large reserves," said the Ministry's keenness to provide the ideal environment to attract and promote investments Global pedigree. Hibashkova praised the "steps taken by the Iraqi Government and the oil Ministry for the development of this sector by investing to wealth and cooperation and joint investment with global companies, including European companies."

Oil Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said, in (27 January 2015) that his Ministry was in the process of developing energy sources and seeking to attract investment in the comprehensive development plan, and he noted that Iraq will increase oil and gas reserves to become first in five areas.
