14/09/2011 18:10 Erbil, Sept. 14 (AKnews) – Organizers of Erbil’s fifth international constructions and energy fair said Wednesday that some 400 companies will participate in the exhibition to be opened next week.
In a press conference held in Noble Hotel in Erbil, Fadi Jressani, representative of the IFP, the organizing company, told reporters that t 400 foreign and local companies from 20 countries will out their goods on the show.
The show will last from 19 to 25 September.
Nahro Kamaran, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Ministry of Reconstruction and Housing representative to the conference said “the opening of such international fairs in Erbil will help the exchange of views between local and foreign companies and thus will contribute to the reconstruction of the region.”
KRG officials in the conference said the purpose f the show was to encourage the development of the private sector.
“The private sector has had an outstanding role in the improvement of the electricity sector in the region. Now, the Kurdistan Region is seeking ways… to increase its current 1700 megawatts of power to 6000. And this is a good opportunity for the international companies to invest in” said KRG Minister of Electricity. He sad the KRG would provide all the facilities for the international companies to work in the region.
