BAGHDAD / NINA / The US ambassador to Iraq, Stuart Jones denied on Monday that the international coalition aircraft dropped arms and aid to the IS gangs.
He said at a news conference following a meeting with Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi, according to a statement by the Ministry of Defense, that the reports by some media that the international coalition aircraft dropped arms and aid to the IS are baseless and that the goal is to offend the bilateral relations between the international coalition and the Iraqi government.
Stewart confirmed the continued support by the United States to the Iraqi government, noting that America pays tribute to the significant role played by the Iraqi forces in the fight against terrorism.
The statement noted that al-Obeidi and Stewart discussed during the meeting, the bilateral relations and issues related to the support provided by the international coalition forces to the Iraqi forces out of training, equipping and air support.
The local media quoted security sources as saying that an unidentified aircraft had laid down weapons and aid to the IS organization near Ramadi, west of Ratba .
