Iraqi Government forces have killed a number of militants of the "Islamic State" who launched a suicide attack on an air base where u.s. and coalition forces are training Iraqi forces, the Pentagon said Friday. Admiral John Kirby said, the Pentagon Press Secretary, said about 20 to 25 armed Islamic State organization participated in the attack on the base of Al Asad Air Base in Anbar province. The leaders of the attack "at least many of the suicide bombers, some of them managed to detonate their bombs before the Iraqi troops to kill him. Kirby said he did not kill or hurt any of us. Kirby also said that fighters of the Organization of the State seized the town of Baghdadi, near the air base. He said that this was "the first time (at least since two months if not more) succeed in seizing new territory." Kirby said it is not clear whether the attackers had managed to penetrate the base perimeter of the base, which extends a series of complexes of buildings. "The information is still coming in," to clarify some details. There are about 400 u.s. troops at the base, but Kirby said he was one of the Americans involved in the fighting. Col. Steve Warren, spokesman for the Pentagon said US forces were almost two miles in a different sector of the base. Warren said that American drone surveillance aircraft and Apache helicopters were dispatched to the site of the attack over Baghdad, but before it arrived, so did not participate in the fighting.
