Handal said that "the body was elected pledged to be true with the government partner and end any problematic or junctions between private banks and the government, especially in light of the current trend of the Government of al-Abadi, which confirmed its support for the private sector, particularly the banking sector because that sector is the backbone of the economy of the country and remained absent ignored or there will be a large vacuum in the economy. Recall that in spite of the private banks spread in Iraq, which amounted to more than 30 banks, however, these banks did not play a pivotal role in the economic development process in Iraq because of the smallness of these banks in addition to the departure of government institutions to deal with it because of the reluctance of some private banks in their work.
The banking system consists in Iraq from 43 banks, as well as the Central Bank, and distributed according to government ownership between seven and 30 waged, including the Islamic seven, as well as six foreign banks which is distributed by Branch 600 in the whole of Iraq.
