Iranian Gov’t orders tax cooperation with Iraq

The Iranian cabinet has commissioned the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance to enter into talks and sign a provisional protocol for exempting Iraq from paying tax and exchange tax information with Iran’s neighboring country.
According to government’s decision, the Economic Affairs and Finance Ministry will take the necessary measures for holding talks and signing a provisional reforming protocol to the agreement between Iran and Iraq for avoiding collection of tax and exchanging information on revenue and capital tax until final approval.
According to the text of approval, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance is authorized, after making coordination with the legal vice-president (international agreements affairs) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs take measures for holding the talks, initial signing and provisional signing of the reforming protocol of the agreement between Iran and Iraq for avoiding collecting tax and exchanging information on revenue and capital tax.
The ministry is to follow up the case within the framework of a text that is approved and sealed by the cabinet ministers within three years after communication of the approval and take the necessary legal procedure for the final approval.
The approval, bearing the signature of the First Vice-President Ishaq Jahangiri was conveyed to the ministries of economic affairs and finance and foreign affairs for implementation on February 9. /End/
