High number of displaced in Iraq to about 2.6 million

Khandan- official at the Iraqi Ministry of Immigration said on Friday that the number of displaced families in the country increased to 521 thousand families, according to the latest official statistics, compared to the thousands of B507 family, according to statistics in January last.
He explained the smaller-Moussawi, Deputy Minister of Immigration told "Anatolia", the latest statistics prepared by the Ministry of the number of displaced persons reached 521 thousand families at a rate of more than 2.6 million displaced people in the case of the average number of family members 5 people.
He added that the newly displaced people who have been registered in the ministry database are from the provinces of Anbar, Diyala, Salahuddin and Nineveh, and some of them fled months ago, but it is not registered officially at the time while the others were newly displaced after widening battles against the organization "Daash" terrorist.
He pointed out that the majority of the displaced are currently present in the camps provinces of Kurdistan and the center and south of the country.
The official predicted that the high numbers of people displaced from areas where military operations so as to escape the violence, noting that the Department of Immigration, "is working at full capacity to provide the necessary needs of displaced people."
