Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, underlined the role of Italy and its contribution within the international coalition in supporting Iraq to fight ISIS gangs, calling for further cooperation between both countries at the economic, humanitarian and development levels.
This came in a meeting between Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim and the ambassador of the Republic of Italy in Iraq Simo Moratti, in His Eminence’s office in Baghdad, Thursday February, 26, 2015.
For his part, the Italian ambassador affirmed his country's support and backing to the Iraqi government and people in fighting terrorism, declaring that His Eminence has contributed in offering humanitarian assistance to Iraqi displaced and sending military trainers to Iraq, in addition to enhancing cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
