Parliamentary Commission of Economy call for amending the Banking Act to bring in investments

BAGHDAD / Sky Press / .. called for economic and investment commission parliamentary Saturday, to the need to amend the Banking Act Brochure bring local and foreign investment to promote economic reality of the country.

A member of the committee MP Najiba Najib's / Sky Press /: that the federal government is required to amend the Banking Act, the new format brings local investments and enhance the entry of global investment firms, particularly that Iraq today is undergoing an economic crisis after the fall in world oil prices.

She added, must work to increase the financial non-oil revenues in the federal budget and reduce dependence on oil revenues, and transform the Iraqi economy to yield a diverse revenue. /

[tlm724] enhance the entry of global investment firms. According to the US Securities and Exchange Commission an investment firm is defined as :

Generally, an "investment company" is a company (corporation, business trust, partnership, or limited liability company) that issues securities and is primarily engaged in the business of investing in securities.

An investment company invests the money it receives from investors on a collective basis, and each investor shares in the profits and losses in proportion to the investor's interest in the investment company. The performance of the investment company will be based on (but it won't be identical to) the performance of the securities and other assets that the investment company owns.
