Pentagon: no escape from entering Tikrit and long battle

Two officials at the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) to the newspaper "the dailybeast" that the entry of Tikrit inevitable that long battle with the organization "Daash" terrorist, in spite of turning what was supposed to be a quick victory to a long siege.
Said Lt. Col. Steve Warren, a spokesman for the Pentagon that "delayed entry of Tikrit, and the campaign now stopped and Iraqi forces have yet to reach the city center but is on the outskirts of the city."
Warren added, "They definitely have surrounded plans and enter Tikrit inevitable and that the longer the battle," in reference to Iraqi forces.
Warren said that "the Pentagon is watching the military operation in Tikrit closely to see what lessons can be learned by efforts to restore Mosul."
Gen. Martin Dempsey said, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in his testimony before Congress, "It is inevitable entry of Tikrit, but also the case of strategic patience."
