Foreign Minister receives Chinese key official

Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari received on March 22, 2015 China’s leadership state consultant Mr. Yang Cetishi who is the highest official to visit Iraq from China since 2000.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and the importance of enhancing them to serve the common interests between the two countries.
The minister welcomed the guest valuing this visit, which is an important step from Beijing to support and assign the Iraqi government in its fight against the so-called terrorist organization Daash.
The Minister also stressed that he is looking forward to an official visit to China the very near future in the hope of activating the agreements and accelerate the work of the joint committees between Baghdad and Beijing.
For his part, the Chinese Chancellor stressed his country’s full support for the Iraqi government and its rejection of all acts of terrorism, stressing the desire of China to enhance cooperation between Beijing and Baghdad in all fields, in addition to supporting the presence of Chinese oil companies to develop the oil sector in Iraq. /End/
