The head of the Diyala provincial council, Muthana al-Tamimi said in a press conference held today at the crossing and attended (range Press) "has been re-opening of the border Mabrsommar between Iraq and Iran closing since 1980 in the presence of a number of Iraqi and Iranian figures, including Iran's ambassador to Iraq, Mahmoud Danaii fled and the Governor of Kermanshah ".

Rezai said that "the crossing will see an influx of commercial convoys carrying food and construction materials from Iran towards Iraq and vice versa."
For his part, the Iranian ambassador to Iraq Hassan Dnaii fled "This crossing will be a model for the cooperation of the daily business of the proximity of the crossing distance from the capital, Baghdad, and the province of Kermanshah and spend Kellan West in Iran," expected "the increase in the volume of exchanges significantly at other border points in the province."
Recalls that Somare is the second crossing a border port between Iraq and Iran in the Diyala province, will be introduced in addition to the Munthareya in Khanaqin.
