Technical delegation to settle the debt and outstanding issues between Egypt and Iraq
Office announced Finance Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Sunday, that the latter agreed with his Egyptian counterpart Hani Qadri on the formation of a joint technical delegation to resolve outstanding financial issues between the two countries.
He said the finance minister's office said in a statement Radio tow received a copy of it, that Zebari "met at the World Bank, today, Egyptian Finance Minister Hani Qadri and discussed with him a number of financial topics of interest to the two countries, including Egypt's debt on the subject of Iraq."
"The two sides agreed to form a technical delegation from both countries to discuss these topics and to develop the necessary proposals to resolve all outstanding financial issues between them and be close settlement with the debt settlement in accordance with the Paris Club."
He said Zebari Qadri "stressed the necessity of activating the Egyptian-Iraqi relations, especially in economic and trade fields."
The parliamentary Finance Committee announced that, in the (January 13, 2015), the existence of a government proposal includes the purchase of Iraqi debt to the Paris Club by the central bank to take advantage of the benefits of debt paid by Iraq to cover the deficit.
It is noteworthy that the Paris Club, the economic is an informal group consisting of financiers finance officials from 20 rich country economically, a financial services such as the debt owed by the states scheduling instead of bankruptcy or debt relief cut interest them, and cancel the debt of heavily indebted and its creditors states.
