Barzani: We are heading toward the biggest exodus from Mosul

Shafaq News / The Prime Minister of Kurdistan Region , Nechirvan Barzani expected heading towards a larger number of displaced people to the region in conjunction with the upcoming
operation to liberate Mosul city and a number of other areas of Iraq, pointing out to the region’s need for help from international donations, particularly from the United Nations organizations
Barzani's remarks came during a meeting with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Iraq , Jan Kobash and his accompanying delegation.
A statement from the presidency of the regional government received by “Shafaq News", said that “Kobash spoke during the meeting about the past year's events in Iraq and in particular ISIS terrorists on the territory of Kurdistan and a number of other areas in Iraq, and the large number of local and Syrian displaced refugees to Kurdistan Region, indicating that this form a burden on the region that managed to receive these displaced people, refugees , house them and help them well.
Kobash e pointed out that he would try his part to urge the United Nations organizations to provide necessary help for the displaced and refugees, adding that the international organization would support at the same time the efforts of Kurdistan Regional Government to improve the situation of these refugees from the health and educational aspects and requirements of daily life.
The statement noted that in another aspect of the meeting, Kobash talked about relations between Erbil and Baghdad, which has witnessed a remarkable progress, and played a role in the political stability at the domestic level to Iraq, noting that the two side’s views were identical on the problem of "ISIS."
He explained that the risk of ISIS terrorism cannot be dealt with by military means, stressing that it requires political, social and economic from the Iraqi government.
The statement noted that the head of the regional government , Nechirvan Barzani pointed to the obstacles faced by Kurdistan Region, especially the recent problems that cropped up after the former Iraqi government cut off the region's budget, which formed many obstacles to the region, adding that nevertheless people and Government of the region managed to embrace the vast number of refugees and displaced persons who have fled from the oppression of terrorism.
Barzani noted that the assistance to refugees and displaced are more than the government’s possibilities, especially we are talking about a planned operation to liberate Mosul city and a number of other areas of Iraq, pointing to expectations of more number of displaced people to Kurdistan Region.
