Iraq North Oil says dry gas and liquid gas production increasing and prepares for
June 02, 2011 North Gas Company said on Thursday that dry gas production increased to 350 million square feet a day and the ratio of liquid gas used as fuel for home use rose to 1400 tons a day and revealed that it finished works on a study to innovate a third production line.
General Manager of North Oil Company Hanar Najib Hassan told Alsumarianews that the technical and engineering cadres in the company raised the level of gas production in Kirkuk gas fields to 350 million cubic feet while they used to be 180 million cubic meter of dry gas.
Hassan added that the direct aim of the company is to deal with the gas that accompanies crude oil production in the northern fields and to transform it into oil derivatives such as dry gas that is used as a clean source of energy and is easy to use in electric power stations, cement companies and many industrial companies in the north and the middle of Iraq. This product is used as a raw material in the factories of cement and petrochemicals.
Hassan stressed that the ratio of liquid gas that is used in houses hoisted to 1400 tons per day while it used to be 1200 tons per day. Thus the current ratio of production cover one third of Iraq market needs.
North Oil General Manager said that the company finished a study to start a third production line during the two upcoming years and stressed that the project aims at lifting production lines in accordance with the development of gas production.
Iraq drilling company affiliated to Iraq Ministry of Oil had started Wednesday drilling and maintaining 72 oil wells in a project that is the first of its kind in Hamrin Mountains and that after a halt of work for more than 21 years.
It is to be noted that North Oil Company is the biggest gas company affiliated to Iraq Oil Ministry and it is situated in Kirkuk. The activity of the company expands from the northern Turkish borders till the middle of Iraq and from the Iranian border on the east till the Syrian and Jordanian borders on the west.
It is to be noted that North Oil Company is one of the biggest gas production company affiliated to Iraq Ministry of Oil and it is situated in Kirkuk and it includes oil fields in the northern and middle provinces which are Kirkuk, Nineveh and Saladin.
