Oil Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi , Sunday, that the oil agreement between the central government and the Kurdistan Regional Government is still "respected" by all parties, but he pointed to a difference of interpretations, as pointed out that the financial difficulties taking place in Iraq make everyone as "worried case ".
Mahdi said in an interview with Alsumaria's News, on the sidelines of the death of Mr. Mohammed Bahr al-Ulum in the province of Najaf, he said that "there are problems between the central government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, but the deal is still respected by all parties, although there is a difference in interpretations", noting that "there unremitting efforts to resolve problems through agreement and not outside."
He added that "Kirkuk emit more than the previous and our exports in the last month of Ceyhan was up to 500 thousand barrels, and these rates were not unprecedented even when the Kirkuk pumping oil," noting that "the financial difficulties in Iraq make everyone condition concerned".
Abdul-Mahdi held, in (13 May 2015), a visit to Irbil to discuss the benefits of Kurdistan financial territory and the agreement of oil, while expressed regional president Massoud Barzani, the hope that is reached good results in the ongoing talks between the governments of Baghdad and Erbil, and during a meeting combined with Abdul-Mahdi.
The Council of Ministers decided, in (2 December 2014), to approve the oil agreement between Baghdad and the Kurdistan region which provides for the delivery of the region no less than 250 thousand barrels of oil a day to Baghdad for the purpose of export, after reaching the Kurdish delegation headed by Nechirvan Barzani, with Iraqi government an agreement on the region's share in the budget and export of oil.
