Lavrov: Russia is ready to supply Iraq with weapons

External Minister Sergei Lavrov said his country's readiness to supply Iraq with weapons to counter the progress of the "Islamic state".
Lavrov's comments came ahead of scheduled to be held in Moscow between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi talks.
Lavrov said that Russia will provide all possible efforts to help the Iraqi government to repel attacks by gunmen organization.
The organization militants seized the western Iraqi city of Ramadi last week, in what was the worst defeat for the Iraqi government within a year.
The Reuters news agency that the fall of the city revealed the weakness of the Iraqi army and the limited capacity of US air strikes.
At the same time it enables the organization of militants control of the historic city of Palmyra in Syria.

The US military announced Wednesday for sending anti-tank weapons to Iraq to help restore the city of Ramadi, dominated by the organization.
