Security forces surround Ramadi, liberate 65 square km, says Interior Ministry

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Interior Ministry announced on Wednesday the liberation of 65 square km of Ramadi areas, confirming that the security forces have surrounded the city from two important axes.
The ministry’s statement quoted the commander of Anbar Operations, Maj. Gen. Qassim Mohammadi, as saying, “The security forces managed to liberate 65 square km of Rmadi areas,” stressing that “the security forces are besieging the city from the two important axes.”
Mohammadi added, according to the statement, “the security forces in coordination with al-Hashed al-Sha’bi militia and tribal fighters have tightened control on the main ports used by ISIS gangs in funding and escape,” noting that “the security forces have begun trapping Ramadi from the south and west axes.”
