Iraq Reached Self-Sufficiency In Gas Production

BAGHDAD / NINA / Oil Minister, Adel Abdul-Mahdi said Iraq arrived to a state of self-sufficiency in the production of liquid and dry gas and dispensed importing it.
A statement to the Ministry of Oil quoted Mahdi as saying today that “there is a clear progress in the production of liquid gas used in homes for cooking and dry gas used in power generation,” stressing that Iraq has reached to a state of self-sufficiency in gas production and will dispense from importing it soon.”
Abdul-Mahdi confirmed the ministry’s support to increase oil and gaseous production which is the largest part of the economic process and has other effects that determines the amount of resources that enter the country, stressing the need to give priority to the public interest on the rest of interests to maximize oil and gas wealth exports on which the country depends on ”
