(Voice of Iraq) - Statement XVII Economic Commission meeting June 9, 2015 the Committee on Economic Affairs held its seventeenth session on 06/09/2015, headed by Oil Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi and the membership of ministers (Finance, Planning) and the Governor of Bank Iraqi Central and Chairman of the National Authority for Investment and Advisor to the Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and the Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Ministers of Finance and Administrative Affairs and the Director of the Legal Department of the Prime Minister's Office and the Commission has taken a number of decisions of an economic nature including the following:
1. As it represents Basra of the importance of being the economic capital of the country and for the purpose show it decent facial commensurate with historical and economic status and the purpose of the city create to host the Gulf Cup sports competitions major for the content of the infrastructure, sports and youth of the cities and its candidacy to be the capital of Arab culture, the Economic Commission decided to include a number of cycle important projects within the investment budget for the province of Basra.
2. The institution of political prisoners represent an important segment of Iraqi society and support and give it the importance of the urgent necessities, Economic Commission has decided to exclude FAO engineering firm of measures taken to withdraw the work and give them an extra period to the end of 2015 in order to complete the construction of the Liberal compound in Basra province.
