Masum and Barzani affirm the need to ensure the success of the national reconciliation project

President Fuad Masum discussed on Thursday evening with the President of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani in Erbil, the overall security and political situation on the Iraqi arena and the regional terrorist threats on Iraq and the Kurdistan and the region.
The two sides praised during the meeting, according to a statement by the presidency, the role of the security forces, the army and the Peshmerga and the popular crowd and the sons of the tribes in the face of the terrorist organization Daash and consolidation of security and peace of mind and help the displaced people.
In another aspect of the meeting they emphasized the need for unifying the views between all parties to ensure the success of the comprehensive national reconciliation project, as well as to join efforts to remove the obstacles to the implementation of the terms of agreements between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government to resolve the outstanding issues and to rely on the ongoing dialogue between the two sides.
The situation of the displaced people was one of the meeting axes, according to the statement, as the two sides stressed the importance of working to alleviate their suffering and to redouble efforts in order to provide them the necessary requirements, especially in Kurdistan to accommodate the large numbers of displaced people who went to the region, and the necessity that the concerned authorities in the federal government and international organizations to make greater efforts to provide a decent life for the displaced people until their return to their home areas. / End
