Considered the Committee on Agriculture and Water in the House of Representatives, on Thursday, that the provinces of Babil, Najaf, Karbala, Qadisiyah drought-prone because of the cut "Daash" of the waters of the Euphrates after control of the helm of Ramadi in Anbar province.
The head of the Committee Furat al-Tamimi said in a statement, seen Agency Nun news reporting on its version, "The Daash water Ramadi Barrage cut after his control over Anbar, moving now to the Thar Thar Lake to complete the water war on Iraq and specifically the provinces of Babil, Karbala, Najaf and Qadisiyah, which will suffer during the next term of drought expected as a result of the lack of water inventory for these provinces which are not enough to get out of this crisis. "
Tamimi said that "the shortfall in the Euphrates River as a result of control Daash on dams in Syria and Iraq," he said, adding, "it was compensated by the Tigris River, but the problem still exists and the provinces mentioned are still at risk of drought."
"The situation is critical and requires action quickly to prevent an aggravation of its effect on other provinces, especially since the amount of water that was available in the Euphrates before the water war is estimated at two hundred cubic meters per second, and now we do not get, but less than fifty percent of the usual quantities."
It is said that the Ministry of Water Resources, confirmed Sunday (June 14, 2015) that the organization "Daash" is still close Ramadi Barrage and prevents the flow of water toward the Euphrates basin, noting that the measures taken by the ministry, which contributed to the increase make up the shortfall in water levels.
And decreased levels of the Euphrates River water to their lowest level in years after the regulation on the control of Ramadi Barrage gates.
