Egyptian and Russian Foreign Ministers discuss by telephone the situation in Iraq

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed on Tuesday by telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, the developments in bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in various fields to serve the interests of both countries.
A spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Badr Abdel Ati said in a statement issued today, that the phone call, which was made yesterday evening, discussed also the situation in the region and a number of important regional issues, including the developments of the Syrian crisis and international efforts to reach a political solution to the crisis in accordance with the decisions of the Geneva 1.
He continued that the two sides discussed the situation in Iraq, and the spread of terrorist organizations in the region, in addition to the situation in Libya and support the UN envoy’s efforts and push forward political solution” ./End
