BAGHDAD—Iraqi fighter jets destroyed two Islamic State (ISIS) convoys led by two of the group’s notorious leaders in Fallujah Saturday evening, said the Defense Ministry.
A statement by the Iraqi Defense Ministry said that the convoys belonged to Shakir Wahib and Gaaid Kuwaiti, two ISIS commanders in the western province of Anbar.
The statement didn’t say if Wahib and Gaaid were traveling in the convoys but indicated that all the militants were killed in the attack.
On the same day coalition jets attacked a group of ISIS militants near Habbaniya.
ISIS militants captured the provincial capital Ramadi in March and fighting has been going on ever since between the radical group and Iraqi troops over the city of Fallujah.
