Al-Jaafari and Turkish Ambassador emphasize the promotion of mutual cooperation

Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari stressed on Tuesday the need to strengthen the prospects of joint cooperation between Iraq and Turkey, while the Turkish ambassador to Iraq Farouk Qaamakja noted his country is seeking to strengthen ties and work towards what serves the interests of both peoples.
His office said in a press statement today that “al-Jaafari met, Turkish Ambassador to Iraq Farouk Qaamakja,” noting that “the two sides discussed progress of the bilateral relations and the latest developments in Iraq, and reviewed the results of the parliamentary elections in Turkey recently.”
The statement quoted al-Jaafari as emphasizing on the “depth of the historical relations between Iraq and Turkey,” stressing “the need to strengthen the prospects of joint cooperation between the two countries.”
For his part, Turkish Ambassador Farouk Qaamakja stressed his country’s quest for “strengthening relations between Iraq and Turkey, and work towards everything that serves the interests of the two neighboring peoples ./ End
