Turkey agrees to immediate increase in Iraq's share of water

Vice President Osama Najafi announced the approval of Turkey "immediate increase" to Iraq's share of water in the Euphrates River, while pointing out that the increase will be from 270 cubic meters to 500 cubic meters per second. Nujaifi said Office in a statement received (range Press) copy of it, "Vice President Osama Najafi visited, on Thursday, Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu," noting that "the two sides discussed the water crisis, especially in the Euphrates River Basin and the suffering of the people due to lack of water. "
The statement added that "Turkey has agreed to launch immediate increase in the amounts of water from 270 cubic meters per second to 500 cubic meters per second."
The statement that "the meeting discussed the political and security situation and developments in the confrontation with al (Daash) terrorist and Turkey's role in helping Iraq, and its importance for the future of the relationship, as the situation in the region examined in the light of developments and terrorist challenges. "
The annual need for Iraq from the water about 50 billion cubic meters, while specialists is expected to reach its water needs until the year 2015 nearly 77 billion cubic meters compared to a decline imports to less than 43 billion.
