The Prime Minister called Haider al-Abadi, his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe's visit to Iraq, by inviting him handed the Iraqi ambassador to Tokyo, an official at the Japanese Foreign Alaa al-Hashimi. A statement by the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Monday, seen by Roudao network media, said that "Ambassador Al-Hashimi met last Thursday agent Japanese Foreign Ministry for Parliamentary Affairs Quintaro Sonora in the ministry building in the capital, Tokyo." The statement added that "the Iraqi ambassador during the meeting reviewed the latest security developments in Iraq", hailed as "the development of bilateral relations." The statement also said that "Ambassador al-Hashimi delivered the official invitation extended by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to his Japanese counterpart to visit Iraq." In turn, "the Japanese official welcomed the Iraqi ambassador, praised the evolving bilateral relations between the two countries."
