Iraq closes border crossings with Jordan

(Independent) ... Iraq has decided to close the border crossings with Jordan until further notice.
It quoted Jordan News Agency (Petra) for a Jordanian government source as saying that Iraqi authorities informed the Jordanian counterpart the Iraqi government's decision, the closure of the border crossings with Jordan until further notice.
The source called on passengers and drivers wishing to travel to Iraq, not to go to the border posts, pending a new decision of the Iraqi authorities to re-open its border with Jordan. (End)
