Kurdistan Regional Government confirmed on Thursday that it would take other steps to address its problems with Baghdad economic especially, and drew to its support for dialogue with the federal government in order to reach appropriate solutions, as the United Nations stressed the need for the commitment of all the Parties, "especially Baghdad," the oil Convention.
The government said in a statement received (long-Presse) a copy of it, that "the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Nechirvan Barzani, received today in Erbil, the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Iraq, Jan Kubis," noting that "the two sides discussed the latest developments concerning the differences between Erbil and Baghdad, and the problem of displaced people in the region. "
He said Barzani, according to the statement that "the obstacles between Erbil and Baghdad have been going on the past year in 2014, has not been addressed yet," asserting that "the Kurdistan Regional Government is forced to take other steps to address its problems, especially in the economic sphere."
Barzani pointed out that "the Kurdish government supports dialogue and discussions with Baghdad to arrive at appropriate solutions in the interest of all parties", praising the "role of the United Nations in this regard."
For his part, UN Special Envoy according to the statement from the "high satisfaction with the cooperation and coordination between the Kurdistan Regional Government and organizations of the United Nations," in advance "Thanks to the Kurdistan Regional Government for the support and assistance for displaced people and refugees."
Kubis expressed support "for the United Nations steps Kurdistan Regional Government in dealing with internal problems and differences with Baghdad," and expressed "readiness of the United Nations support for the Kurdistan Regional Government in this area."
Kubiš stressed that "the United Nations will support dialogue between Erbil and Baghdad," stressing the need for "the commitment of all parties, especially Baghdad, Erbil with the Convention."
The federal government signed with the Kurdistan Regional Government, in (the second of December 2014 the past), the Convention requires that the Kurdistan Regional Government to export 550 thousand barrels of oil per day from fields and fields of Kirkuk, for sending the federal government's budget territory amounting to 17 percent of the budget public, but that agreement collapsed after the two sides exchanged accusations over the lack of commitment to them.
The Kurdistan Regional Government, confirmed in (the 17th of June 2015), it will be forced to take legal ways to address the financial and economic crisis in the region, if "Baghdad did not comply with" the budget law, and has then to export oil directly without handed over to the Iraqi Marketing Company (SOMO).
The government crisis cell, confirmed on Wednesday, (July 15 from the current 2015), on the need to adhere to the Convention on the delivery of oil Kurdistan region's oil and dues amounts, according to the law of the federal budget for the current year 2015.
