Jaafari Meets His Turkish Counterpart

Foreign Minister, Ibrahim al-Jaafari confirmed that Turkey has embraced the Iraqis and has provided humanitarian assistance to them.
Jaafari stressed, during a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Mawlod Jawishoglu, according to a Foreign Ministry statement “the importance of the historic and strong relations between Turkey and Iraq, saying that the presence of the terrorist organization Daash is a common threat to both countries.
He expressed hope to strengthen cooperation between Iraq and Turkey to reach advanced levels.
For his part, Jawishoglu said that “this visit is the third by al-Jaafari to Turkey after the formation of the new Iraqi government, stressing his country’s support to the Iraqi government in its fight against terrorism.
The statement noted that “the two sides also discussed bilateral relations and regional developments, particularly the fight against criminal gangs of Daash and the water file.
Foreign Minister, Ibrahim al-Jaafari, who is visiting Turkey at an official invitation of his Turkish counterpart also met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Ahmed Davutoglu ./End
