Baghdad-Iraq-Presse -24 July: Iraq's parliament was called on to face Electricity Minister Qassim Fahdawi, on Saturday, in an effort to contain popular protests in the southern governorates, demanding his dismissal from his post because of the low electrical current work hours. Said Zaher al-Abadi, a member of the Oil and Energy Committee in Parliament, on Friday, that the Commission has decided to call the Minister of Electricity after escalating protests in the central and southern governorates, adding that "the Commission wants to know the reasons that led to the reduction of hours of electricity in central and southern governorates." Abadi said that the work of the low power supply in the southern provinces hours, with high temperatures, cause confusion in all areas, and increased criticism from citizens, following saying: "We will work with the minister to contain the crisis." Dozens of civilians, in front of the Najaf provincial council building, Wednesday, in protest against the electricity crisis in the province, as tensions increased because of the crisis the same in the provinces of Basra, Dhi Qar, Muthanna, after being accused of the Ministry of Electricity to "failure to fulfill its promises." And demanded that the local governments of the southern provinces, the resignation of the Minister of Electricity from his post after failing to implement his promises to improve the reality of the power supply, as bloggers launched a campaign on social "Facebook" networking sites to call for his dismissal. In turn, announced that the Iraqi air atmosphere body, in a statement that the central and southern region Stchehdan starting today a rise in temperatures, reaching 51 degrees Celsius, in the province of Basra because of the low thermal impact Almosme.anthy (1)
