Iraq announces production of 3.2 million tons of wheat in 2015

Shafaq News / The Iraqi Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday that domestic production of wheat crop for 2015 reached 3.2 million tons.
The ministry said in a statement seen by Twilight News, that "the amounts of wheat marketed for the current year 2015 amounted to 3.2 million tons in all the provinces."
The ministry said "work on all insurance needs through coordination and cooperation with local governments in order to maintain the sustainability of the stock of wheat crop, as well as secure inventories in the liberated areas of Daash terrorist gangs".
Iraq needs around 4.2 million tonnes per year to reach self-sufficiency, and according to Iraqi officials, he was able to reach the country's self-sufficiency for Daash not control most of the north and west of the country, including large tracts of agricultural land.
