Allawi calls to "dismantle" the Green Zone and gives Abadi’s government three months to implement reforms

Shafaq News / The Head of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi called on Monday to dismantle the Green Zone in Baghdad, which houses government buildings and foreign embassies, and investigate the financial and administrative corruption rampant in state institutions and departments. The paper reforms adopted by Prime Minister , Haider al-Abadi , Allawi said in a press statement that the reform must start from the headquarters of the Council of Ministers in Iraq, calling for the formation of an international commission of inquiry to investigate the wasted money. Allawi noted that "he will give the government 3 months to respond to our demands for reform and fight corruption," describing the political process in Iraq as "decomposed" and based on "sectarianism and marginalization."
