Planning announces rise in poverty indicators in Iraq through 2014

Planning Minister Salman al-Jumaili, said the drop in oil prices crises and crimes Daash Tzbban in high poverty rate in Iraq to (22.5%) during 2014.

He continued by saying: The launch carried out by the Technical Committee for Poverty Reduction Strategy and reached the indicators results may serve to draw policies that mitigate the crisis in 2011, noting that the World Development Report highlighted the subject of interaction between conflict and vulnerability with poverty and the hurricane.
He pointed out that countries affected by acts of violence serious do not suffer from a slowdown in development efforts, and continued by saying: that Iraq is a country rich in natural resources and wealth, as has the gift and promising in terms of its richness in human capital, culture and ancient history as well as the agricultural potential, which thwarted repeatedly because of waves of violence and conflicts, international and regional conflicts that have suffered since the eighties.
He explained that these estates formed the major development challenges that require efforts and years of development work hard to overcome them, noting that the results of the analysis, which was launched and based on macroeconomic indicators and estimates of population projections and the results of the socio-economic survey of the family concluded that the poverty rate dropped to what it was in 2007 no (22.5%) after it was expected to go down from 19% in 2012 to 15%.
He said the government lost all the efforts made since 2007 and until 2012, and expressed hope that the results of this analysis provide important indicators for planners and policy makers, especially mitigation of the next poverty strategy and plan to support displaced people and ages of the provinces that were displaced.
