BAGHDAD / Center Brief for the Iraqi Media Network - (IMN) for the economic and investment commission in Parliament, said that the National Customs Authority estimated the need for another year to ensure perfect application of the law of customs tariff on all border crossing points.
The President of the Council of Ministers, Haider al-Abadi, on the 6th of August / Aug. postponed introduction of the new customs tariff, attributing this to "ensure the readiness of border crossing points to be applied away from the corruption and double standards."
He said committee member Najiba Najib's (IMN), "The Director General of the General Administration of Customs informed the Committee that all the rehabilitation of the infrastructure necessary for the application of the Law of the ideal tariff need another year until August of next year."
Najib explained that "customs tariff legally enforceable by the government, but on the ground there are problems related to border crossing points because of the successful application of the law creating the special supplies is complete," noting that "the application of the law with no infrastructure him in ports completion border improper conduct. "
Iraq relies on oil exports to the annual financial revenue by up to about 97%, and is seeking through legal legislation package to activate the industrial, agricultural and commercial side including Aamadmn find additional financial revenue along with oil revenues.
