Obaidi: The coming stage will witness an escalating pattern operationally to Liberate Ramadi and Baiji

Shafaq News / The Ministry of Defense said Thursday that the Minister , Khaled al-Obeidi told the American military delegation that the next phase of military operations
carried out by the Iraqi armed forces will witness an " escalating pattern operationally " to liberate Ramadi city in Anbar province, and Baiji northern Salahuddin from the control of ISIS terrorist organization.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, al-Obeidi met in his office Wednesday evening Gen. (Millie) Chief of Staff of the US Army and his accompanying delegation who is visiting Baghdad, and during the meeting they reviewed developments in the military operations field in the war against the forces of terrorism as well as aspects of bilateral and military cooperation between the two countries.
The statement quoted al-Obeidi as saying that "the battle waged by Iraq even if was a national battle in defense of the people of Iraq and its fundamental interests, but it is in the same time a humanitarian battle, where Iraqis are addressing valiant terrorist forces in an operational and geostrategic form for the sake of defending the global vital interests."
Obeidi pointed to "the determination of the Iraqi armed forces backed by the national powers to retake all Iraqi soil from abomination of the terrorist gangs”.
According to the statement, al-Obeidi asked "Friends of Iraq to intensify support and assistance to the Iraqi war effort in the areas that need combat troops, particularly in the areas of air support and military engineering."
In this context, the US Army Chief of Staff Gen. Millie confirmed that the United States stand by Iraq in its war against the forces of terrorism and its readiness to intensify support for the Iraqi armed forces, according to their needs.
