Dozens of owners of tomato farms near the headquarters of the Basra Governorate Council, today, to demand a reduction amounts levy imposed on them when marketing their crops through (Alallop), allowing them to market their crops without restriction, while the Agriculture Committee in the provincial council announced the launch of the case to the Council for a decision thereon He said one of the organizers of the demonstration farms Rafik al-Salihi said that "dozens of farmers protested peacefully at the entrance of the Basra Governorate Council in the Courier area and blocked a feeder roads leading to the Office of the province in protest at increasing the amount of levy imposed on them when marketing their crops of tomatoes through (Alallop) located in the district Zubair, "noting that" it is reasonable to take relatively large sums of farmers when marketing their crops through Alallop, which is a dirt yard surrounded by barbed wire and lacked the most basic services ". Salhi and pointed out that" the protesters are demanding the abolition of the stated bid by the municipality in terms of Safwan rental Alallop in hand, and not to allow the municipality Zubair hold a public auction for rental Alallop in the judiciary, in addition to the withdrawal of municipal hands of Alalutin, and assigned to the Department of Agriculture are administered allowance forwarded to contractors, "adding that" the basic requirement is to reduce wages and make it a symbolic collection while allowing farmers to market their crops the way you think it is appropriate, including allowing them to be transported and sold in the markets of other provinces
