Dozens of civilian activists in the province of Arbil, on Monday, in front of the Cabinet building in the province, demanding the reduction of the salaries of the three presidencies and those with senior positions to 50%, while underlining that the neglect of the demands of citizens will reflect negatively on the region's authority.
A member of the organizing committee to protest civil rights activist Ali Mahmoud, during a press conference held in front of Ministers of the Kurdistan Regional Council, attended the (long-Presse), said that "during the past few days has been launched justice campaign with the aim officials and parliamentarians' salaries reduced by 50%," noting that "this campaign Reforms aimed at finding a way serving the Kurdish community who suffers difficult economic conditions ".
Mahmoud said, "The Kurdistan parliament took a step during the last term reduction of 20% of the salaries of its members," asserting that "the demonstrators refused and demanded that this ratio amendment to make it 50%."
Mahmoud stressed that "citizens negligence claims will reflect negatively on power in Kurdistan." It is noteworthy that the majority of Iraqi provinces experiencing massive demonstrations since more than a month to condemn the poor services and corruption in government institutions and the judiciary, resulting in many of the reforms announced by the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.
