Political sources revealed that the US Embassy in Baghdad foiled two attempts to assassinate Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.
The sources said in a statement to the London-based Asharq al-Awsat that the first attempt was in the planning stages by elements linked to Balebadi points while the second was at the entrance to the Green Zone from the point of suspension bridge.
