Private bankruptcy of most of the banks in Baghdad
10/13/15
BAGHDAD / Sky Press: A source in the Ministry of Finance, on Tuesday, that most private banks do not provide financial liquidity, to the heavy demand for withdrawal and lack of deposits as a result of the financial crisis in the country.
The source confirmed for "Sky Press" that "most of the banks are suffering from a large deficit in liquidity due to lack of sufficient funds and sudden withdrawal of cash by the citizens."
The source, who declined to be named, said "entry of most of the banks in the real estate speculation that has seen a sharp drop in prices."
It is worth mentioning that the central bank said earlier provision of liquidity to banks, but this liquidity is not enough to meet the acute demand.
