October 28, 2015
He announced the French intelligence director, Bernard Bajolet, in Washington at a conference on intelligence, that the Middle East as we know it is over, never to return, stressing that countries like Iraq or Syria will never regain its former borders.
Said Bajolet, during the conference, which was also attended by the CIA, John Brennan, director, said Syria is divided on the ground between the regime and the Kurds and the organization Daash, and that the same applies to Iraq, and that there is no possibility to return to the status quo ante.
Bajolet expressed confidence that the region will stabilize again in the future, but it will be different from those that took place after World War II.
